2019 Nissan Titan: Climbing to the Top of the Pickup Mt Olympus

2019 Nissan Titan: Climbing to the Top of the Pickup Mt Olympus

There’s something to be said for Nissan tackling a segment already rife with models well established and loved by truck drivers the continent over. With the Big Three holding on to pickup truck top spot for decades, the Nissan Titan arrived (after a short hiatus from the automotive world) to the scene a few short years ago to stir things up a bit (in a good way); and it definitely has.

While the 2019 Nissan Titan remains largely unchanged from the previous generation, for this model year Nissan has introduced a partnership with Fender audio system, outfitting their larger than life pickup with an equally large audio experience when you’re behind the wheel. Nissan also upgraded their standard entertainment screen from a 5.0” colour touchscreen to a 7.0” and Apple CarPlay and Android auto are still available across the board.

If there’s one thing that really stands out about the 2019 Nissan Titan it’s the larger-than-life mesh front grille that definitely gives this truck some serious presence on the road, even when it’s parked. If it’s a beefy, manly pickup you’re looking for, then the Nissan Titan is the truck for you. And it doesn’t just look big, it gets down to business and is big on getting the job done, too.

Regardless of configuration chosen for your 2019 Nissan Titan (Single, Crew or King cab), you’ll find a spacious and well-appointed interior available in either cloth or leather. Entertainment and HVAC knobs and buttons are large and easy to manipulate, even when wearing gloves, and the steering wheel features shortcut buttons to keep your attention on the road where it’s meant to be.

When it comes to pick up trucks, configurations seem endless for body style and features/amenities. However, Nissan’s made it rather simple with their lineup: the 2019 Nissan Titan features the same engine throughout its body-style/amenities lineup: a 390-horsepower 5.6L V8 engine that also offers up 394 lb-ft of torque. Power is controlled via a 7-speed automatic transmission, and the Nissan Titan also offers a switch-operated 2-speed transfer case 4WD.

If you’re getting behind the wheel of the 2019 Nissan Titan it’s likely because you want to do some heavy lifting or towing. So, you’ll be pleased to know that the Nissan Titan has a max towing capacity between 9,000-9,200 lbs (depending on model chosen), and has a max payload between 1,323-1,543 lbs (again, depending on model chosen).
