2018 Nissan Kicks Introduced at Los Angeles Auto Show
Posted on December 31, 2017
The Los Angeles Auto Show is the first North American auto show of the year, and usually serves to kick start the auto show season on this side of the pond. It’s also where you see more production models than concepts.
As a matter of fact, the L.A. Show is known for being very production vehicle focused, and there aren’t too many wacky concepts that have very little chance of making it to production. It’s a show for consumers, and one of the models featured at this year’s edition is the brand new 2018 Nissan Kicks, an SUV for young, urban consumers.
2018 Nissan Kicks: Nissan’s latest SUV
The Nissan lineup is known for its sport utility vehicles, and it already offers one of the largest and most comprehensive sport utility vehicle lineups in the industry. Indeed, there is an SUV for every need in Nissan’s new lineup, more so than ever now with the arrival of the new Kicks.
The Nissan Kicks is a utility vehicle aimed at young families who drive mostly in the city. Its goal is to be fuel-efficient and affordable, and also easy to drive in an urban environment. That said, it is also designed to be practical and versatile enough to meet the needs of these young families.
Power will come from a 1.6-liter, four-cylinder engine that delivers 125 horsepower and 115 pound-feet of torque. Power will be sent to the front wheels through a continuously variable CVT automatic transmission which should make the new Kicks one of the most fuel-efficient SUVs in its class.
We don’t yet know the price of the new Kicks, but we do know that it will feature three versions and a choice of five colors. Every 2018 Nissan Kicks will get an emergency automatic braking system with collision detection, seven airbags, and a rear-view camera. Features like blind spot monitoring and rear cross-traffic alert are optional. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are also on the Kicks’ equipment list, as is a high-end Bose premium audio system.
"As the gateway to Nissan's adventure-ready sport utility line-up – joining Qashqai, Rogue, Murano, Pathfinder and Armada – Kicks is designed to fit the needs of singles or couples looking for expressive styling, personal technology, smart functionality and advanced safety features," said Steve Rhind, director of marketing for Nissan Canada Inc.
The new 2018 Nissan Kicks will hit the market in June 2018. In the meantime, contact us today at Vickar Nissan to learn more!
