Nissan Rogue vs Toyota RAV4 vs Honda CR-V

Nissan Rogue vs Toyota RAV4 vs Honda CR-V

Not one segment has more models to offer consumers than the compact SUV segment. Almost every automaker offers a compact SUV, and with a few exceptions they are high-quality vehicles with the latest safety and connectivity technologies. Three examples are the Toyota RAV4, the Honda CR-V and the 2017 Nissan Rogue.

SUVs that emphasize comfort

With so many choices, it's important to determine your needs before starting the shopping process. The reality is that if we do not know what we are looking for in our next compact SUV, we will waist a lot of time navigating all the options available to us.

If we know we want a comfortable and refined sport utility vehicle, the CR-V, RAV4 and 2017 Nissan Rogue are three great starting points. That said, Toyota has wanted to make its vehicles a little more dynamic in recent years which means that we get an SUV that is a bit harsher than the Rogue and the CR-V, but still comfortable.

The Honda CR-V has always stood out in terms of comfort, but its driving behavior has always been far from sporty. And then we have the 2017 Nissan Rogue, a sport utility vehicle that many consider to be the perfect compromise between comfort, refinement, sportiness, performance, and fuel economy.

This is a sport utility vehicle that is quiet and refined on the road. It absorbs road imperfections on and isolates passengers, but it also offers precise steering and a suspension that can take turns with confidence.

Its 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission offers smooth and progressive performance while being quick to react when you press the right pedal to accelerate or pass.

Its fuel consumption is set at 7.0 liters per 100 kilometers in the city, and 9.2 liters per 100 kilometers on the highway. That’s equivalent to the Honda CR-V and better than the Toyota RAV4.

A large practical cabin in the 2017 Nissan Rogue

The 2017 Nissan Rogue along with the the Honda CR-V and the Toyota RAV4 offer a rather impressing cargo area that exceeds 1,000 liters. The 2017 Nissan Rogue, however, has a slight advantage with its 1,112-liter trunk with all seats in place and nearly 2,000 liters with the rear seat lowered.

And finally, the 2017 Nissan Rogue is more affordable than most compact SUVs starting with the RAV4 and CR-V with a starting price of just $ 25,948. That's about $ 1,000 and $ 1,500 less respectively than the CR-V and the RAV4.
